YOCHO tries very hard to be sustainable and transparent.

So the boxes in which the jewelry is packed are made of FSC® certified cardboard and water-based glue. The same goes for the tissue paper and the shipping boxes. The FSC® mark is the guarantee that the materials used come from an FSC® forest, where only the trees that the forest can reproduce are cut. It also means that plant and animal life is managed more responsibly, forest workers are trained, wear safety equipment and are paid a fair wage.

The store is hosted via Shopify and IONOS. IONOS uses 100% green energy from renewable sources for all data centers in Germany. You can find more information here:

Shopify decommissioned all data servers in 2018 and completely switched to Google Cloud for platform operations. With this change, Shopify is now carbon neutral as Google offsets 100% of the energy consumed by Google Cloud with renewable energy. To offset the CO2 emissions of the air transport of the goods from Colombia to Germany, YOCHO regularly donate to Fundación Neotrópicos. In the lowlands of the Río Magdalena river lies the El Garcero nature reserve, which was created in 1991 by a reforestation project of the non-profit organization. We thank the city of Monheim am Rhein for the contact and the handling. 100% of the donations we send will go to the project. The production of the jewelry takes place exclusively in Colombia and YOCHO only works with companies that pay their employees and jewelry craftsmen a fair wage and create fair working conditions.
